5DtoRGB Lite App Reviews
FUNKTIONIERT NICHT UNTER MOUNTAIN LION!!!!
Nettes Tool, aber es funktioniert nicht unter 10.8 & 10.8.1. Dringend nachbessern!
I have been using this for some time now, since the beta days. We use it here at work to convert our 5D MKII h264 files to ProRes 422. You can see a difference for sure. Also, I see a better image coming from this than what Final Cut Pro X does with its own conversions. I highly reccomend the free download, and I would say if you have a need for converting multiple files at once, the 50 dollar purchase price is incredible!.
I downloaded this app to view or convert mts files from my video camera. All it does it throw error messages complaining about missing codecs and metadata. The manual doesnt have a troubleshooting section so to fix this thing Ill need to spend hours surfing looking for solutions to these problems.
Nice!
Thank you for the update! It was nessesary.
UPDATE: App still chugging along, doing great for what we need. Couple of things: it will only make use of one core/processor — it’s not multithreaded yet, so conversions take time to perform. It’s worth the wait. Second: If you need to convert batches of files, spring for the $50 paid version. There’s a automator script floating around that makes use of the free version, but it made my Macs unstable. Buy the Batch-Enabled version. You’ll make that back with the first job you do with it. We use this anytime there’s a Canon DSLR in the mix. The ProRes output from this little app outshines anything I’ve seen from FinalCut or AME. Our workflow was changed to accomodate the extra time needed to convert from the cameras’ h.264 to ProRes — it’s really THAT good!
